8 easy and natural ways to keep your feet looking fresh

Our feet carry most of us through the world every day, so it’s important that we take care of them. Proper foot care goes beyond simply cutting or painting your nails; it’s also important to remove corns, blisters and calluses. The following simple tricks will have your feet in shape in no time at all.

1. Bread and apple cider vinegar

This one sounds a little strange, but it works wonders against calluses. Take a piece of bread and soak it in apple cider vinegar. Wrap the bread around the callused part of your foot using cling wrap. Put on a cotton sock and let the vinegar work its magic overnight. This will soften your callused skin, making it easy to remove the next morning. It may even disappear on its own without any scrubbing.

2. Apple cider vinegar and castor oil

Pour a cup of apple cider vinegar into a tub filled with warm soapy water. Soak your feet until you notice your calluses have softened and then rub them with a pumice stone. If you also have corns, try rubbing castor oil on the sensitive spot. If you do this every day for 10 days, your feet should be smooth once again.

3. Vitamin A or E

Gel vitamin pills aren’t just for your insides. Carefully squeeze the gel out of a few tablets and spread it on your corn before going to bed. Put on a fresh cotton sock and repeat this process until the corn has completely disappeared.

4. Lemon peel

Cut a slice of lemon about the size of your toe before getting into bed. Press the lemon on your corn and wrap something around it to hold it in place. Put on a cotton sock and let the lemon work overnight. Repeat this every night until the corn has disappeared.


5. Onion and white vinegar

Let a piece of onion soak in white vinegar for a day. Then fix the onion to your corn and put on a cotton sock. Similar to the lemon, sleep with a piece of onion every night until the corn has disappeared.

6. Castor oil 

This method can be used during the day or at night. It works for small corns that can’t easily be wrapped. Take a small piece of paper and cut a hole the size of the corn in the middle of it. Place the paper around your corn and put a few drops of castor oil in the middle. Cover with tape and repeat until your corn has dissolved.

7. Aspirin

Crush five aspirin tablets and mix them in a cup filled with equal parts water and apple cider vinegar. Rub the paste that forms into your corn or callus and cover it. Let the mixture soak for about 10 minutes before rinsing and removing any excess thick skin with a pumice stone.

8. Epsom salt

This method takes a bit longer, but it’s extra relaxing. Give yourself a foot bath with warm water and a handful of Epsom salt. Let your feet soak for 10 minutes before carefully rubbing them with a pumice. Repeat as often as needed until your feet are beautiful and smooth.
