In the year 2016, there will be 1,658,370 new diagnoses of cancer in the United States alone. This is what statistic are saying for this year coming, the sad part of this is that they are just new cases not cases that are exist. Even though medical researcher won’t claim that they have found the cure to cancer, they have come pretty close to the newest discovery about a certain vitamin.

About 70% of American children don’t receive enough vitamin D and about 75% of United States adults don’t get enough of this sunshine vitamin in their daily life. This vitamin might not sound so important if it weren’t for the reason of preventing so many different kinds of cancer, heart disease and even diabetes. An adequate daily amount of the nutrient is a healthy contributor to general health and increasing one’s intake may even be the missing link to the cure for cancer.

One of the biggest issues tying cancer to vitamin D deficiency is that too few people actually know how to determine if they are lacking the vitamin. While the only way to confirm a vitamin D deficiency is a blood test, there are many signs that an individual may be lacking the vitamin.

  • Excessive sweating – Sweating that appears with no physical exertion or elevated temperature is a common indicator of low vitamin D levels.
  • Chronic pain

Even though it hasn’t been confirmed, there are many studies that explain how Vitamin D helps tremendously with cancer. One study that was performed by Joan Lappe and Robert Heaney in 2007, which was done on women who were going through menopause at the moment were given Vitamin D to increase their levels, just four years later these women experienced a 77 % decrease of all types of cancer.
